Definition of the NANDA label

State in which the individual lacks enough physical or mental energy to develop or finish the daily activities that he requires or wants.

Insufficient physiological or psychological energy to endure or complete required or desired daily activities.

Defining characteristics

• Verbal references of feeling fatigue or weakness.
• Alterations in:
– The heart rate.
– Blood pressure.
– The respiratory rate before the activity.
• Electrocardiographic changes indicative of:
– Arrhythmias.
– Ischemia.
• Discomfort or dyspnea on exertion.

Related factors

• Bed rest and immobility.
• General weakness.
• Sedentary lifestyle.
• Imbalance between the demands and the contribution of oxygen.
