NANDA Nursing Diagnosis Definition

The Nanda nursing diagnosis « disposition to improve comfort is defined as: pattern of tranquility, relief and transcendence in the physical, psycho -spiritual, environmental, cultural and/or social dimensions, which can be reinforced.

  • Express desire to improve comfort
  • Expresses desire to improve the feeling of satisfaction
  • Expresses desire to improve relaxation
  • Expresses desire to improve the resolution of complaints

Suggestions of use

As it is a diagnosis of well -being, it is not necessary to establish an etiology (that is, related factors). If any of the defining characteristics are presented, it should be considered whether there is any ailment (such as pain, nausea) or if another diagnosis of well -being should be used (for example, disposition to improve spiritual well -being).

NIC Interventions

  • Support in decision making: provide information and support to a patient who is making a decision regarding their health care
  • SUPPORT FOR AMPSODIFICATION: Reinforcement of a self -directed change and initiated by the patient to achieve personal importance goals
  • Increase in self -knowledge: Assist the patient to explore and understand their thoughts, feelings, motivations and behaviors
  • Increased self -efficacy: reinforcement of individual’s confidence in their ability to exhibit healthy behavior
  • Assertive training: helping the effective expression of feelings, ideas and needs, at the same time respecting the rights of others

Nursing Activities

  • As this diagnosis is not developed at the highest level, it is difficult to determine the specific approach of nursing interventions.
  • In general, nursing staff must provide an integral approach to well -being and self -care, teaching or facilitating environmental management. Many nursing activities focus on training the patient to increase their own comfort. The diagnosis of comfort deterioration should be consulted so that interventions address specific problems that affect well -being.

Valuations

  • Explore with the patient which means “well -being” for him
  • Evaluate possible obstacles to a greater degree of well -being
  • Determine in which areas the patient wants to increase their well -being (for example, physical, emotional, social, spiritual)
  • Evaluate possible obstacles to assertiveness (for example, socialization, emotional or knowledge condition)

    • Explore the individual’s perception about his ability to perform the desired behavior
